YASA in Automotive: Accelerating Electrification

YASA partners with the world’s most exciting car manufacturers to design and develop e-motors that are fully integrated into the drivetrain.

Our unique Axial Flux Technology adds a critical dimension to these Supercars, powering them to unrivalled &  ultimate electrified performance.

Lamborghini Temerario

The all new super sportscar, equipped with a twin turbo V8 hybrid powertrain, with 3 YASA axial flux electric motors.

The twin-turbo V8 has been designed & developed from scratch and is the only production super sportscar engine able to reach 10,000rpm.

Automotive is our History. And Future

"In  2003, as an Oxford University pHD student, I found myself asking why there weren’t any electric cars. That got me looking into electric motor structures, topologies, and components, specifically Axial Flux.
We achieved 3-4 kW/kg in an e-motor in 2009 which compared with around 0.6 kW/kg in a Toyota Prius’ motor, so we saw there was a huge difference this technology could make in the market"

"Our early automotive collaborations included designing and providing e-motors for Jaguar’s hybrid C-X75 concept car and Koenigsegg Regera."

In 2021 YASA was acquired by Mercedes Benz and in July 2023, announced the Vision One-Eleven concept, a fully electric car with the YASA motor at the heart of the drivetrain. Recently, Mercedes Benz have begun the refit of a factory in Berlin to mass-produce the Axial Flux motors  for AMG.
