We recently welcomed Bloomberg News to our Oxford HQ, giving them an all access tour to show them how our game-changing electric motors will revolutionise the electric car market.
Bloomberg’s Craig Trudell met with our CTO & Founder Dr. Tim Woolmer, who explained the story behind YASA’s unique axial flux motors and how they’ve made their way into some of the most exhilarating electric vehicles, such as the Ferrari SF90 and 296 GTB, as well as the Koenigsegg Regera hybrid hypercar.
The pair also discussed how the Mercedes-Benz acquisition has created the opportunity to mass produce high-powered, ultra-efficient motors for future electric vehicles.

“The power-to-weight ratio is really a record number, and much better than conventional motors”
Markus Schaefer, Mercedes’s CTO
As Craig couldn't help but say, although our axial flux technology sounds like something from Back to the Future, our motors are already smaller, lighter and more powerful than existing radial motors. YASA's axial flux technology maximises performance and usage of the available battery capacity, whilst also enabling new vehicle architectures.
